FAQ Garden AR

AR

What does AR mean?

AR stands for "Augmented Reality". It refers to a technology that adds digital elements, such as images, videos, 3D models and information, to the physical world to create a combined, enriched experience. Unlike virtual reality (VR), where users are fully immersed in a virtual environment, AR uses the existing environment and adds overlapping digital content. This allows users to interact with both physical and virtual elements.

How do you create a 3D model?

We use the photos on your existing website to create a proper 3D model. So you don't need expensive equipment, and you don't have to provide special photos. We simply extract information from the images already on your website and convert them into a 3D model. This way, we can take your content to the next level without large investments.

How well do the 3D models look like my products?

3D models are drawings that resemble your products as closely as possible. In the end, a photo is always more realistic. 3D models are used by consumers to get an idea of whether a product fits in their home or garden, not to see real details. After all, you have the photos for that!

What is WebAR?

WebAR stands for Web-based Augmented Reality. It uses web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript to display AR experiences directly in a web browser, without the need for additional apps or downloads.

What devices support WebAR?

Do I need a special app for WebAR?

No, the beauty of WebAR is that you don't need to download a special app. You can simply open an AR experience in your web browser by going to a specific URL.

Does WebAR have limitations?

Although WebAR is becoming increasingly sophisticated, there are still some limitations. Not all devices support the same AR features, and performance can vary depending on hardware and internet connection. In addition, the tracking of the environment and accuracy of AR experiences can sometimes be less optimal than native AR apps.

Can I use WebAR for e-commerce?

Yes, WebAR can be used to provide a great online shopping experience in your webshop. Many retailers in the garden industry are already using our AR solution!

Can you use WebAR offline?

WebAR always requires an active internet connection as AR experiences are generated and displayed in real-time.
